Amanda has been baking with her mother since she was a child. At the fourth grade book fair, Amanda purchased a cookbook and learned how to make New York Style Cheesecake on her own! Since then, she has been baking cheesecakes and cakes for her family. When she was 16 years old, Amanda asked for a KitchenAid Stand Mixer for her Sweet 16 present (because all the cool chefs on the Food Network had one).

Amanda also baked celebration cakes and cookies for over 15 years.  In 2015, Amanda’s love for food led her to compete on MasterChef with Gordon Ramsay! To learn more about Amanda and to try some of her recipes, visit amandasplate.com 

butter bear shop was founded in December 2017, when Amanda was on maternity leave from her social work job at a non-profit, with the intention of sharing gourmet treats with the world, while also helping to combat hunger thru our #butterbearcares program.
